The U.S. daily New York Times says the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour is losing superstar Annika Sorenstam, but may be gaining another in South Korean Shin Ji-yai.

The paper noted that Shin introduced herself to golf fans in the United States by winning the ADT Championship, Sorenstam's final tournament, on Sunday.

The report called Shin the next Se Ri Pak, but identified her more with Nancy Lopez in terms of personality as Shin is often sporting a smile.

Earlier on Monday, the daily also said Shin may become the best woman golfer to come out of Korea since Pak.
