Korea and Britain will promote cooperation in science and technology.

The two sides reached the agreement Thursday at the ninth meeting of a joint science and technology committee held in London.

According to the Korean Education, Science and Technology Ministry, both countries will enhance the exchange of female researchers and life science experts. They will also increase cooperation in exploring polar regions, securing food safety, and fighting mad cow disease.

The Korea Polar Research Institute in London signed with Britain’s Scott Polar Research Institute a memorandum of understanding on expanding support for each other’s research in the Antarctic.
