The nation’s top figure skater, Kim Yu-na, has finished first in the short program at the Cup of China in Beijing.

Kim captured the top spot on Thursday with a score of 63-point-64 points, outperforming Japan’s Miki Ando by four-point-three-four points.

On Friday, the 18-year-old Korean will compete in the Cup of China's free skating event, the third of six events in the Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
