Kim Yu-na Wins Skate America Women's Title

The nation’s top figure skater, Kim Yu-na, has won the Skate America women's title after sweeping the free skate and short programs in figure skating's season opener.

Kim, who was the last to perform among eleven contestants, put her elegance on display as she skated in tune with “Scheherazade.”

She captured the overall crown with 193-point-45 points after taking the free skate with 123-point-five points. Japan’s Yukari Nakano came in second followed by former world champion Miki Ando of Japan.

Kim will compete next in the Cup of China starting Thursday of next week. The Cup of China is the third of six events in the Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
