MS to Begin MSN Video Services in Korean

Microsoft Corporation has begun offering services of its MSN Video feature in Korean.

The Korean office of the software giant announced Wednesday that the Korean version of MSN Video will provide a wide range of streaming internet video services ― including news and sports ― specifically designed for the Korean-speaking audience, by joining hands with Korean media.

Microsoft also released a Korean version of the internet video-sharing service, Soapbox, on MSN Video.

With the new services, Korean users will no longer have to experience the inconvenience of posting titles and explanations of their videos only in English.

Microsoft’s aim to dominate Korea’s user-created-content market is likely to bring about competition between Internet-video providers. Earlier this year, Google’s YouTube entered the nation.
