Soccer striker Park Chu-young has scored a goal and had an assist to lead AS Monaco to a 2-0 victory in his French league debut.

His goal came in the 26th minute against FC Lorient and his assist in the second half.

Park, 23, started the game and was replaced by American midfielder Freddy Adu in the 79th minute.

Park signed a four-year contract worth two million euros (2.9 million U.S. dollars) with the Monaco-based team last week, becoming the fifth Korean to play in France.
