Wheelchair Racer Hong Sets World Record

In the Paralympic Games in Beijing, wheelchair racer Hong Suk-man won a gold in the men's 400-meter event with a world record of 47-point-six-seven seconds.

In shooting, Lee Ji-seok became the first Korean athlete to win a second gold in the Games after winning the ten-meter air rifle event.

Veteran athlete Jung Keum-jong won a bronze in the men's under-58 kilogram powerlifting event. He lifted 180 kilograms to finish fourth, but moved up in the rankings after the third place winner was disqualified.

In table tennis, Cho Jae-kwan and Jung Eun-chang both won silvers and Lee Hae-kon a bronze, which was his eleventh career medal.
