Seoul City held a ceremony on Friday to congratulate its 38 medal-winning athletes from the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The city awarded individual cash prizes of ten-million won to gold medalists, seven-million won to silver medalists and five-million won to bronze medalists.

Silver medalist Nam Hyun-hee was awarded a special prize of 30-million won for being the first South Korean female to win a fencing medal.
