'Biomass to Emerge as Major Renewable Energy'

Knowledge and Economy Minister Lee Yoon-ho says that bioenergy or biomass will be considered the most important and useful among new sources of renewable energy for a significant time in the future.

Renewable energy refers to non-traditional technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, small hydro and biomass.

The minister made the remarks on Tuesday in a plenary session of the parliamentary committee on knowledge and economy.

Lee was answering Grand National Party lawmaker Kang Yong-seok’s question on the most efficient among renewable energy sources.
