The nation’s Olympic team has returned home from Beijing.

Arriving at the airport on Monday, the team received an enthusiastic welcome from their families, sports organizations and fans.

After the news conference, the athletes attended the disbanding ceremony at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and paraded down the street on foot to Seoul Plaza in downtown where a welcome home ceremony took place.

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, South Korea ranked seventh overall with 13 gold medals, nine silver and eight bronze. It’s the largest number of gold medals the nation has ever won in the Olympics.
