Korea Wins Two Golds in Baseball, Taekwondo

The Korean baseball team has defeated Cuba 3-2, giving the nation its 13th gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.

With Cuba at bat with bases loaded at the bottom of the ninth inning, South Korea finished the game with a double play, nabbing runners at first and second. This is South Korea's first Olympic gold medal in baseball.

Cha Dong-min won another gold medal after beating Alexandros Nikolaidis of Greece 5-4 in the men's over-80 kilogram taekwondo event. His win has completed the nation's clean sweep of golds in four taekwondo events at the Beijing Olympics.

South Korea has captured the gold medal in the men's over-80 kilogram category for the third consecutive time since the Korean martial art was selected as an official game of the Olympics in 2000.

With just one day left before the Beijing Olympics come to an end, the Korean women's handball team defeated Hungary 33-28 to take a bronze medal. The bronze is the sixth medal South Korea has grabbed in its seven Olympic appearances.

With two more golds Saturday, Korea ranks seventh overall with 13 gold, ten silver and eight bronze. It has surpassed its goal to win ten golds for a top ten finish.
