Korean Baseball Team Beats Japan 6-2

With two days to go before the Olympics come to a close in Beijing, the Korean baseball team scored a come-from-behind victory against Japan to advance to the final.

Lee Seung-yeop's two-run homer in the eighth inning broke a 2-2 tie, sparking Korea's 6-2 victory. Korea will face either the U.S. or Cuba in the gold medal game Saturday.

In the women's 67-kilogram taekwondo competition, Hwang Kyung-seon advanced to the final after beating Gwladys Patience Epangue of France 1-0 in overtime. She will compete with Karine Sergerie of Canada for the gold medal later in the day.

Boxer Kim Jung-joo seeks to make it to the gold medal bout in the 69-kilogram welterweight division. In table tennis, Oh Sang-eun will face China for a ticket to the quarterfinals.

With two golds won in taekwondo Thursday night, Korea now has ten gold, ten silver and six bronze medals ranking them in seventh place in the overall medal standings.
