Korea Approaching Medals in Taekwondo

With three days of Olympic events remaining, South Korea is looking to taekwondo for its ninth gold medal.

In the women's 57 kilogram, Lim Su-jeong beat an ethnic Korean player of New Zealand in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinal.

In the men's 68 kilogram, Son Tae-jin defeated Dennis Bekkers of the Netherlands four to three and joined the semifinal.

In men's singles table tennis, Oh Sang-eun beat a Nigerian rival four to three and went on to the round of 16.

So far, Korea has eight gold, ten silver and six bronze medals, ranking seventh after Germany.
