Gold medalist Lee Yong-dae has been ranked one of the most popular Korean athletes in the Beijing Olympics.

In a survey conducted by a national online portal, over 24-hundred, or 31 percent, of the 79-hundred respondents voted Lee of the mixed badminton doubles team as the brightest star of the Olympics.

Weightlifter Jang Mi-ran received 24 percent of the votes, followed by Judoka Choi Min-ho with 19 percent and swimmer Park Tae-hwan with 16 percent.

Many of the respondents voted swimmer Park’s 400-meter final as the most interesting matches of the Olympics.
