The South Korean men's handball team failed to reach the semifinal round in the Olympics on Wednesday.

The team lost to Spain 24-29 during a match held at the Olympic Sports Center in Beijing.

The team will go against Poland on Friday to determine fifth and eighth place.

The only time the men’s handball team won a medal in the Olympics was at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, where they won the silver.
