Korean Gymnast Wins Olympic Silver

On the tenth day of the Beijing Olympic Games on Tuesday, Korean gymnast Yoo Won-chul won a silver medal in the men's parallel bars competition.

Yoo scored a total of 16.25 points, finishing right behind China's Li Xiaopeng.

However, South Korean Yang Tae-young failed to win a highly anticipated medal in the event, finishing seventh.

In women's handball, the Korean team defeated China 31 to 23 to advance to the semifinals. They will compete against Norway for a ticket to the gold medal match.

In baseball, Korea beat reigning Olympic champion Cuba 7 to 4 to claim their sixth consecutive win.

Korean weightlifter Jeon Sang-geun was dropped from the men's super-heavyweight competition after failing in his first three snatch attempts.

Korea ranks seventh in the total medal tally with eight gold, ten silver and six bronze medals.
