The World Taekwondo Federation will celebrate its 35th birthday in Beijing where the 2008 Olympic Games are currently under way.

The celebration will be held at a hotel in the Chinese capital at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The ceremony will be attended by some 350 Korean and foreign sports figures, including 30 members of the International Olympic Committee.

The number of nations included in the WTF has increased from 35 to 188 over the past three decades.
