Swimmer Park Advances to Finals

On the fourth day of the Beijing Olympics, South Korean athletes continue their pursuit of gold.

In the men’s 200-meter freestyle semifinals on Monday, gold-medalist swimmer Park Tae-hwan set a new Asian record with a time of 1:45:99. He advanced to the final round slated for Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Judoka Wang Ki-chun advanced to the semi-finals in the men’s 73-kilogram class for Judo.

Nam Hyun-hee advanced to the semifinals in the women's individual fleuret in fencing.

The men’s archery team also advanced to the group semifinals hoping to match the Korean women who won gold on Sunday.

As of Monday, Team Korea won a total of three gold medals in judo, swimming and archery, ranking third overall behind China and the United States.
