Women's Archery Wins 6th Straight Gold

The women’s archery team has won its sixth straight gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.

South Korea beat China 224-215 in the final after defeating France 213-184 in the semifinals.

The final was a repeat of the 2004 matchup in which Korea won a thrilling 251-250 victory over China.

In other sports, 22 year-old weightlifter Yoon Jin-hee won Korea’s first medal in the event at the Beijing Summer Olympics, placing second in the women's 53-kilogram class to Jaroenrattanatarakoon Prapawadee of Thailand.

The Korean lifted a combined 213 kilograms, eight kilograms behind the Thai. Bronze medalist Novikava Nastassia of Belarus matched Yoon’s score but got third because of her slightly higher body weight.
