A Korean pharmaceutical company will take part in a new AIDS drug development program financed by the U.S.' National Institutes of Health.

Samjin Pharmaceuticals said the NIH will fund its project to develop a new anti-AIDS material in cooperation with U.S. pharmaceutical firm ImQuest BioSciences.

The compound is said to prevent HIV viruses from replicating and penetrating into human cells.
