Korea, Cuba Face Off before Olympics

Korea’s national baseball team will scrimmage Cuba before going to Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games.

The Korea Baseball Organization said Monday that Korea will have two assessment matches with Cuba at the Jamsil Stadium on August fifth and sixth. This will be the first time the Cuban national baseball team has ever visited Korea.

The matches with Cuba will offer the Korean team an opportunity to see where it stands before the start of the games. It should be a good barometer as Korea will face the Central American country on August 19th at the Olympics.

In preparation for the Olympic Games, the national teams of Cuba and the Netherlands will train in Korea before heading to Beijing.
