The 2008 Korea Conference on Innovative Science and Technology will open in Daejon next week with some 700 participants attending from home and abroad.

The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies says the conference will be held next Wednesday and Thursday at the Daejeon Convention Center with the participation of science and technology officials from think tanks, governments and industries.

Various programs will include a keynote lecture, an award ceremony on top science theses and visits to major research facilities and institutes.

In collaboration with the conference, some 80 ethnic Korean science talents from eleven countries will attend the Young Generation Forum and for six days, discuss ways to establish a network of young scientists.
