The monsoon season is forecast to begin in late June, as usual, and will continue for about a month.

The Korea Meteorological Administration says the monsoon may also let up at times in July. Isolated downpours even after the rainy season are expected to lead to a wetter August than usual.

Summer temperatures will be near seasonal norms, but there may be sharp fluctuations such as short heat waves and low temperatures.

Two to three typhoons are expected to affect Korea.
