The nation's first astronaut, Yi Soyeon, will be discharged from an Air Force hospital next week after being treated for severe back pain since her return from space.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said Yi was recovering and would be released next Wednesday.

On the day of her discharge, the astronaut will report to work at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) in Daejeon. Then, she will talk to students about her experience in space at her alma mater, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
