Korean taekwondo players have failed to win the Asian Taekwondo Championship, walking away from the annual tournament with their worst records ever.

Both the men's and women's teams came in third, with the men winning one gold medal and the women capturing two.

Korea ranked fourth overall at the competition held in China.

It's the first time Korea has not won the regional championship in its 18-year history.

China was this year’s champion with four gold medals.
