Domestic equipment and devices for mobile wireless broadband (WiBro) Internet services have been officially adopted as an international standard.

Samsung Electronics and Posdata, the developers of Mobile WiMAX standard, said Wednesday that locally developed base station equipment and USB modem products have been officially accepted as an international norm by WiMAX Forum. The organization certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products.

Posdata expects exports of WiBro-related products to further increase thanks to its endorsement by WiMAX Forum.
