Korean Physicists Develop New Semiconductor Tech.

Local scientists have developed an ultra-high capacity non-memory semiconductor circuit technology.

The terabit technology considerably reduces power consumption by the central processing unit of mobile devices like cell phones and laptops.

It was developed by a research team led by Chungbuk National University physics Professor Choi Joong-beom.

The technology is expected to foster development of smaller mobile gadgets and benefit emerging industries like artificial intelligence and nanotechnology.

The research results were published in the March edition of the academic journal Applied Physics Letters and the online edition of Nature on March 20th.
