Korea, China and Japan have agreed on stability and quality standards for next-generation telecommunications networks.

The three countries have worked closely together to take the lead in developing advanced network technologies.

The Japanese daily Sankei Shimbun reported that the three countries will seek global adoption of their agreed standards. The daily went on to say that theirs may become the first international standards for next-generation networks.

The report said Korea and Japan had already agreed on technology standardization and were recently joined by China.

It added that Asia and Europe were competing fiercely over whose technology will be adopted internationally.
