The Korea Football Association (KFA) says it would support flying the North Korean flag and playing that country's national anthem at a World Cup qualifier in Seoul to be held June 22nd.
KFA Chairman Chung Mong-joon said it would be good to make such arrangements for the Seoul match in accordance with rules of FIFA, soccer's world governing body.
A regional qualifying match between the two Koreas was to be held in Pyongyang late this month. But it was moved after the North refused to let the South fly its national flag and play its national anthem.
The KFA appealed to FIFA for mediation and the world governing body decided to hold the inter-Korean match in Shanghai.
The KFA chief hoped the North would let the South play its anthem and display its flag if both Koreas advance to the final qualifying round and meet in the North Korean capital.
