The nation's top soccer association has reiterated that North Korea must let the South display its flag and play its national anthem at an inter-Korean match in Pyongyang.
A spokesman for the Korea Football Association (KFA) said the soccer's world governing body, FIFA, has not informed it of any decision on the World Cup soccer qualifier slated for March 26th.
He stressed the flags of the two Koreas must hang together and their national anthems must be played in accordance with FIFA rules.
South Korea prefers that the match be held in the North Korean capital instead of a city in a third country.
Although the match was to be held in Pyongyang, the North’s reluctance on the flag and anthem issues has led to the KFA to call on FIFA to mediate.
The KFA hinted that it would reject any proposal to have the match held in Pyongyang but use the FIFA song and flag instead.
