'Big City Could Host Inter-Korean Game'

The president of the (South) Korea Football Association wants a major city to host a World Cup soccer qualifier between the two Koreas if necessary.

Chung Mong-joon said Sunday that holding the match in Pyongyang as planned is the best option, but that he will seek a large city in a third country if North Korea does not cooperate and for traffic convenience.

North Korea will not allow South Korea's national flag and anthem during the March 26th qualifier in Pyongyang. Thus the association has asked soccer's international governing body FIFA to mediate.

During this year's East Asia Football Federation Championship in China last month, North Korea proposed Shenyang to host the qualifier if necessary while South Korea wanted Shanghai.

Chung said FIFA will announce its mediation proposal early next week.
