The men’s national handball team will participate in the upcoming Asian Handball Championship next week in Esfahan, Iran.

The Korea Handball Federation said if the team doesn't go, it would only give the Asian Handball Federation something to use against the nation.

The men’s team will leave Thursday for Iran. The team will play in Group B, which includes Japan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The Kuwait-led Asian regional federation has been criticized for unfair refereeing that helped advance the men's and women's teams of Kuwait and Kazakhstan into the qualifying rounds for the Beijing Olympics.
