Korean male saber fencers have won the gold at the 2008 international saber grand prix in Budapest, Hungary.

The national team took the championship by beating China 45-to-34 in the finals on Monday.

The latest win comes after victories over France in the quarterfinals and Belarus in the semifinals, both by a score of 45-to-44.

The Korean team's strong showing has lifted it to seventh in the global rankings. It will also help the team as it seeks a ticket to the Olympic Games this summer in Beijing.
