Korea, Japan Could Get Booted from Handball League

South Korea and Japan could be on the verge of losing their membership in the Asian Handball Federation (AHF).

According to Japanese news outlets, the AHF warned that it will remove the two countries if they replay the regional qualifiers for the Beijing Olympic Games. The rematches are scheduled to open January 29th.

The regional body rejected the International Handball Federation's order to replay the qualifiers for the 2008 Summer Olympics, filing a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The world governing body in December had ordered that the men and women’s Asian qualifiers be replayed after South Korea and Japan charged that previous matches had been rigged.
