Korean Skater 2008 World Sprint Skating Champ

Speed skater Lee Kyou-hyuk has successfully defended his title in an international speed skating competition.

Lee grabbed the gold in the International Skating Union's World Sprint Speed Skating Championship for 2008.

He won both the 500-meter and one-thousand-meter races on the second day of competition, beating his main rival Jeremy Wotherspoon of Canada.

Lee is the first Korean skater to win back-to-back world sprint championships.

Another Korean male skater Mun Joon won the bronze, coming in third in the 500- and thousand-meter events as well.
