Korea, Japan to Hold Handball Rematch

Handball teams from South Korea and Japan may be the only ones participating in Asian qualifier rematches for the Beijing Olympics.

Japanese media outlets on Friday reported that the United Arab Emirates has joined Kuwait, Kazakhstan and Qatar in skipping the upcoming Asian Olympic qualifiers.

Accordingly, the winner of the rematch - South Korea or Japan - will likely grab the ticket to the Beijing Olympics.

The rematches are being held after charges of referee bias marred the initial round of qualifiers held last September. Kuwait won in the men's tournament, whereas Kazakhstan won in the women's.
