Astronaut Ko to Mix Korean Soil in Space

The man set to become the nation's first astronaut says he'll bring South and North Korean soil with him into space this April.

In a video news conference, astronaut Ko San said he'll mix the two in space, saying he believes the two Koreas are still one nation.

Ko is not sure if another Korean will be sent to space, but experiments will proceed along with plans for a lunar mission. He said he will continue to work in the field when he returns from space.

Ko will board the Russian Soyuz spacecraft that will be launched on April eighth. He will conduct various experiments during his ten-day stay at the International Space Station.
