Korea Wins 1st Medal at Int’l Bobsled Competition

Korea has won its first-ever medal in an international bobsled competition.

A Korean bobsled team ranked third in a four-man race at the 2008 America's Cup competition held Monday morning in Salt Lake City, Utah. They placed behind Canada and the U.S. with a time of one-minute, 39-point-23 seconds.

As a result, Korea rose to 18th in the world in bobsledding. With the bronze medal, the nation has also qualified to participate in the sport’s 2008-2009 World Cup series and international championships next month.
