The International Handball Federation (IHF) has confirmed that the Asian Olympic qualifiers will be replayed after charges of referee bias marred the original tournament.

Last year, Japan and South Korea requested the IHF to replay the qualifiers for both men and women for this summer's Beijing Olympics. In their request they cited favoritism on the part of Middle Eastern referees for Kuwait.

Japan’s Kyodo News reported the IHF would select the venue and schedule for the qualifiers Thursday when its executive board meets in Basel, Switzerland.

Candidate sites include Japan and Romania.
