Fourth Day of Heavy Snowfall in Jeolla Province

The southwestern Jeolla provinces are seeing a fourth day of heavy snowfall while heavy snow alerts remain in effect for other cities nationwide.

The Korea Meteorological Administration projected that western coastal regions may get up to seven more centimeters of snow.

It also said mountainous areas on the southern island of Jeju will receive three to ten centimeters. Other parts of Jeju and the west coast are likely to see two to seven centimeters as well.

Cities in the North Jeolla Province have been hit by an estimated 40 to 50 centimeters of snow.

The heavy snowfall is expected to taper off Tuesday evening, with fewer areas seeing snow. The weather should start clearing up Wednesday morning.
