The Republic of Korea (ROK) Army said Wednesday it has drawn up a set of measures to support the FIFA World Cup finals and the Asian Games to be held in cities across the country next year.
The measures include anti-terrorism security and Honor Guard-Military Band shows.
In cooperation with the ROK Navy, police and the intelligence community, the Army will build an anti-terrorism security network to ensure that the international sports events will be carried out safely.
Included in the network will be the Army's 707 Unit, established in 1982 for anti-terrorist and rescue operations, the Navy's UDT (underwater demolition team)/SEAL squad, formed in 1993, and the police's 868 Unit for special operations.
