Figure skater Kim Yu-na and swimmer Park Tae-hwan have been voted sports stars of the year.

A Gallup Korea poll surveyed over a thousand men and women 19 years' old and up, asking them to name the top two athletes who enhanced the nation's prestige in 2007.

The 17-year-old Kim was the favorite with 52 percent of the vote from all age groups. The 18-year-old Park captured more than 45 percent of the vote, mostly from women in their 20s.

Meanwhile, many male respondents in their 20s picked soccer player Park Ji-sung and slugger Lee Seung-yeop. The golfers Choi Kyung-ju and Pak Se-ri also received mention.
