The national soccer team will be headed by Coach Huh Jung-moo of the domestic Chunnam Dragons.

The Korea Football Association appointed Huh after the top two candidates English Premier League manager Mick McCarthy and former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier dropped out of the race.

With two Korean FA Cup championships under his belt, Huh is also said to have been tapped due to his previous experience as coach of the national team.

He is the first Korean to manage the national team in seven years.
