Gov’t to Support Original Technology Development

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy will expand its support for development of original technologies in 15 sectors starting next year.
The ministry will increase subsidies for research and development on 80 items including semiconductors, hybrid autos and protein-related new medicines.
It will spend a total of 430 billion won, or nearly 463 million dollars, on subsidizing the industries.
