Pak Inducted into World Golf Hall of Fame

South Korean golfer Pak Se Ri has been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

The annual induction ceremony was held at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida on Monday local time.

In 1998, her first year as a pro, she won four events including two majors in the United States.

With her win at the 2004 Michelob Ultra Open, she won five majors, accumulated a total of 24 victories and earned the requisite 27 points to quality for the Hall. However, she had to wait three years to complete the final requirement of playing ten seasons as an active LPGA member.

Speaking before over three-thousand ceremony guests, Pak said it was not easy living up to the title of pioneer of Korean women’s golf.

The Associated Press noted also that Pak introduced competitive golf to young women in Korea.
