Angela Park Becomes LPGA Rookie of the Year

Korean-Brazilian golfer Angela Park has become the U.S. LPGA tour's rookie of the year.

The 19-year-old was tied for third at the Navistar LPGA Classic with a four-round total of 12-under 276. With the third-place finish Monday in Prattville, Alabama, she has scored 952 points, qualifying herself for the LPGA's rookie of the year award.

Park is the sixth Korean to win the title after Lee Seon-hwa last year. The other four were Park Se-ri, Kim Mi-hyun, Han Hee-won and Ahn Shi-hyun.

Angela Park ranks eleventh in prize money, ninth in scoring average at 71.6 and second in the number of birdies with 256.
