Leading Korean female weightlifter Jang Mi-ran has won this year's world women's championship,capturing her third consecutive title.

Competing in the female over-75 kilogram class in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Jang lifted a total of 319 kilograms in a combination of the snatch and the clean-and-jerk.

Although she tied her Chinese rival Mu Shuangshuang, the South Korean took the top spot because she weighed less than her opponent.

The 23-year-old Jang also won a gold medal in the snatch with the lift of 181 kilograms.
