Discredited cloning scientist Hwang Woo-suk is known to be conducting research with some of his assistants in Thailand.

Cheju National University Professor Park Se-pil told a news agency over the phone Tuesday that Hwang was studying nuclear transfer between different species using eggs of animals such as cows and monkeys.

Park said that that particular study was halted in Korea due to controversy over ethical concerns, saying it's his understanding that Hwang resumed human stem cell research a couple months ago in Thailand.
