The national track-and-field team will be overhauled in preparation for the 2011 Daegu World Athletics Championships.

Foreign coaches will be brought in for all track-and-field events and new national team members will be chosen through interviews and multi-faceted evaluations.

Korea Athletics Federation President Shin Pil-yul said that the new national team will be formed immediately after the National Sports Games in October.

The new national athletic team will aim to advance to the finals in six events and to the semi-finals in four.
