Incheon to Help Countries Compete Athletically

The Incheon metropolitan government will launch a program to support other countries' athletic achievements next year, following through on a pledge made when it bid to host the 2014 Asian Games.

The city will spend 20 million dollars by 2014 to help countries that have never won an Asian Games medal improve their athletic competitiveness.

The program will invite talented athletes to Korea, provide them with sports equipment, and may build athletic facilities for their use.

As a pilot project, Incheon will invite taekdwondo players from Nepal, Myanmar and Indonesia for training this year.
